A truly amazing book. The voice is powerful, the vibe immaculate. I hate to compare a wonderful work of fantasy to Harry Potter, but it scratches an itch to have a British magical school story that is so well written. Also of note is the way she writes the main characters friendships, it is the most wholesome display of platonic devotion I've ever read. Between that and her descriptions of life on campus I feel like I lived the life of an academic, and experienced things second hand that I've never gotten the chance to before.

A very interesting read, as a precursor to the urban fantasy genre, an adventure where you don't quite know what magic is real, what rules it follows, even as you are told directly and not exactly what it is. A wonderful romp through the magical land of Seattle.

An amazing novella by Le Guin, and queer rep to boot. A lesbian with religious trauma learns to love and cherish a "religion" or at least a way of seeing and experiencing the world.

I read this in two days, It is fun, funny, fast paced, and intriguing. I absolutely must read the next book right away. My only complaint is that every POV character seems to be a smarmy snark machine, and every side character playing the straight man, it gets hard to tell people apart. So the only complaint is everyone is too funny, not the worst complaint to have. Can and do recommend.
